I'm too cheap to join a gym, so I got these just to wear at home and outside in the desert. They work well for both those purposes. They're not so short that you'll feel overexposed in them, but they're not so long that they inhibit heat dissipation. I used to jog and the length and heat-dissipation qualities would have made them perfect for that. Nowadays, I stair-step instead, and these are good for that because they're short enough you don't feel them riding up and down the front of the leg with every raise of your knee.My stats are 5'11", 150 pounds, 30" waist, so I got the small, believing the stretch waist would forgive any size discrepancy. They're fine, though if you look at the online size chart, which I recommend you do because it's somewhat different from most shorts size charts (they have an "extra small" size, for example), I see I could have ordered the "extra small" and they probably would have worked, too.As for the looks in the flesh, they're great. They fit well, seem well-made, don't ride up or slip down, and generally just feel super-comfortable. I got the khaki colored ones in anticipation of wearing them out and about, rather than at a gym, and that's conservative enough looking that I don't feel self-conscious looking overly suggestive. If I got these for the gym, I think I'd choose one of the nifty super-bright colors because they look intense and energetic -- the color would probably help motivate me to tolerate more pain for more gain.Absolutely no reason to deduct any points on these.

What can I say. These lightweight shorts are awesome and very versatile. I have worked out in these, ran in these, slept in these, lounged in these. Heck I even swam in these shorts. It has the liner which is comfortable and keep everything in check. The inseam and leg openings are perfect for my shorter than average but thicker than average legs. The pockets come in handy when you are just lounging around and the string is nice to adjust the waist line. The materials used, look and feel average. The craftmanship is above average. If you don't want to spend a lot of money and have an all around good to great pair of shorts, this should be your go to.

Comfy exercise shorts.I usually go for 5" inseam but when I saw 3" I thought why not. lol. These are definitely shorter than I usually go, but they're still very comfortable.I've ordered other products from Mier in the past and have always liked their quality and design. These shorts are no exception - they are well made from nice fabric.Definitely recommend!

The material is very soft, so flows with exercise: running, working out, or swimming. There's both an elastic waist-band, and also a draw-string. The liner is comfortable, with very fine mesh, so air can get through but it doesn't rub like the mesh in a swim-suit. I got the extra small because many shorts are kind of baggy; if I got another pair though I think I'd just get a small, because the waist is a little tight. The leg openings and length are fine, with plenty of room for movement!
